Ingredients
-
3 pounds pork shoulder (or butt)
-
2 tablespoons salt
-
2 tablespoons black pepper
-
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
-
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
-
1/2 tablespoon paprika
-
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
-
275ml Maritime Madness Super Sauce
-
½ C Apple Cider Vinegar
-
14 oz bag of tri-colour slaw
-
1 Granny Smith Apple, grated
-
1 green onion, thinly sliced
-
1/2 C Mayo
-
1 TBSP sugar
-
1 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar
-
1 tsp Celery Seed
-
Salt + Pepper to taste
For the Dry Rub
For the Cooking Liquid
For the Coleslaw
Directions
In a small bowl, mix the dry rub ingredients together.
Cut any excess fat from the pork shoulder. Apply the dry rub on all sides of the pork shoulder. You do not need to use all of the dry rub - only use enough to cover the pork. Place the pork shoulder in the slow cooker.
Mix the cooking liquids together and pour over the Pork in the slow cooker.
Cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until tender.
While it’s cooking you can prepare the coleslaw by mixing the Mayo, Sugar, Apple Cider Vinegar, Celery Seed and Salt + Pepper in a bowl, once mixed add the Coleslaw mix, Apple and green onion and stir together.
Once the pork is finished cooking, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using forks. Should be easy when it is nice and tender!
Serve with coleslaw on buns, over nachos, on a baked potato, and more.
